Why I Love Living Here

Hi there! My name is Hannah Hafez-Nofal and I am a 5th year Kindergarten teacher here in Metro Nashville. I am a proud product of MNPS and a Nashville native. I am so passionate about my city because, in my eyes, it has it all! The way I like to describe Nashville is that it’s the perfect balance of “big city feels” but still with the charm of a small town. Also, the diversity in this city is remarkable. One of my favorite things to do on the weekends is to drive down Nolensville Road and try restaurants that represent different countries. Some of my favorite authentic restaurants serve Peruvian, Guatemalan, Cuban, Dominican Republican, Kurdish, Arabic, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Indian food, to name just a few. If that’s not your cup of tea, drive about 10 minutes down the highway to 21st Avenue to a more collegiate environment, as this area is right in between Vanderbilt and Belmont. Or try 12th Ave that is a family friendly walking street that includes the sweetest Sevier Park, Las Paletas, yoga studios, seasonal farm stands and some of the newest stores in the city. You won’t get bored!

Moreover, Nashville is not just endless entertainment, but it’s a city that families can thrive in! This is why I want to raise my own family here one day. I feel comfortable and confident knowing that Nashville is safe, friendly and has a plethora of chill family fun. Nothing overdone. I love a good Sunday Radnor Lake trail walk and taking my little brother to the Adventure Science Center whenever we get the chance. Some of my favorite childhood memories consisted of picnics in Centennial park and going to the Farmer’s Market, which is something I still do to this day. I hope to bump into you at Fido or another coffee shop one day and hear what you think of our sweet city.
